Ok well this is going to be a really stupid question but today is my first day on Revit and I've already got all my walls and doors. I know this sounds dumb but...I'm just curious to know how I can grab my walls in 3D view and extend them up or down. I know how to do this...I just can't get the snaps to want to snap to say...the same wall height next to it. Is there a way to do this or do I need to go to my settings everytime? What I do is grab the arrow above or below the wall then try to move my mouse over and 'snap' to the point on the wall I want it to match...but it's not doing that. Any help would be great thanks Lorne

The reason you can't just pull a wall up and have it snap is because you still have your plane defined as a level (ie Leval 1). If you change one wall to the height you want in 3D then make your plane be one of the vertical faces of that wall, you can then use the align tool by clicking on the tops of the walls. HTH

I am an advocate of pretty much always constraining walls to levels, using top and base offsets when necessary. For example, let's say you have 3 levels: First Floor, Second Floor, and Roof. Go to the element properties of a wall and go the "Top Constraint" parameter and set it to a level (Roof, for example). This way if your roof level changes, the wall will flex with it.

Hey Broncos, Well I changed my plane to that wall and no dice. It isn't working. Any other ideas?

Im not sure, but are you still trying to use the toggel arrows after selecting the plane? Use "Align" then you can click on the plane of the top of one wall and and align another top wall plane with that.
