I think the legend feature is great...just one thing.

we reference our door and window details from the door or window types. Typically we have just drawn the types in a drafting view and then referenced other details to that view...but legends are so much quicker than 2d drawing all our doors and windows...here's the problem...Can't add detail references to my legends. Attached is an image of how I WANT it to look (this is the 2d drafting view with references)

Please add the ability to pull reference views in a legend...thank you.

So far I haven't found this to be possible.  For a work around, we have created dummy tags and changed the parameter from Type to Instance.  When you load in the new tag, you can place it as a symbol and edit the values, the only bad thing is that the tag is no longer smart.

We have gone a step further and added type parameters so that we can select a type (ex Window Jamb-Brick) and it will fill in the preset values.  This seems helpful if you “tag” this same detail on several legends/objects.  The upside to this is the value is the same every time you place that tag type, the downside is the tag is longer smart.

Let me know if you are interested and I can explain further.

If you do a section in floor plan or elevation you can copy to clipboard then past them into your legend keeping the values.

My firm has stoped using  legends for windows, and use elevations, this way I can tag them and dimension them to the floor.
