I have an octagon shaped space and would like to have a sloped (2x2 lay-in) ceiling that starts at 11-4 at the perimeter and slopes up to 17-4 at the center.  I have assumed that what I need to do is to create a sloped triangle shaped ceiling panel once and then mirror it around the room.  No problem creating that exact sloped ceiling panel.  I cannot seem to get the grid aligned properly to it.  I have created it on a flat plane.  Aligned all of the grids with the base and centerline of the triange, edited the ceiling shape by adding a slope arrow to it, finished, and the grid is now offset from the centerline and running off at an angle, not aligned with any of the edges.  Once it is sloped, you can't "align" any of the grids.

Any suggestions other than go to a flat ceiling and forget about it?

Do it as a sweep around either the upper flat area or the lower perimeter.

The sloped ceiling un-aligning the grid is my problem.  I can build the stupid octogan pyramid shape in a dozen different ways.  It's getting the grid to "behave" on the surface of the sloped ceiling where I need help.
