I wood like to see if there is a family with a board or sheet of plywood that I can use to design casework (desks, entertainment centers, etc.) What would the experts suggest ?
Any help is appreciated

If you actually want to go to that detail modelling!! Then simply create a new family that is a box, with parameters for width, length and thickness (set the material to plywood). Then just create new types to the appropriate sizes as you require...
Personally though i wouldn't model to this detail and would just create basic solids to represent the elements then if you need more detail either embed detail components or drafting lines.
HTH.
