Revit 2008 

Ok, have checked eveything and can't figure this out. I have an 1/8" overall plan with wall sections. When I duplicate view with detailing some of my wall sections just disappear and have no idea why. Some are there and some are not and of course this has to go out today! Anyone ever come across this one? please don't tell me a glitch!

List of things to check

Phases (including the phase of the view), worksets, visibility graphics, filters, Reveal Hidden Elements, annotation crop region, view depth (although i would be surprised if this was the issue).

My guess is you missed checking on of those.

actually I've checked everything you mentioned and it was none of the above. But I've figured it out.

If you create a section referring to another view/section it will not show up. Thats where edit copy & edit paste are your friends!
