I have been getting email about the Revit Technology Conference:

http://www.rugsyd.com.au/rtc2007/

Has anyone been to these things? Are they worth the time and money, and do you actually learn anything, or are they basically an overview of the software and a marketing exercise? Preaching to the converted etc?

No offence Mr Spot as I see you are a speaker. =)

I haven't been to one before... actually.

But from my experience thus far, writing the talk and seeing what the other speakers are writing, it is definitely not a marketing exercise.  In fact is specifically organised to avoid the use of resellers etc so as to separate itself from that image.

This year it is a roadshow and is not a series of classes as has been the case previously.  It is purely best practices, tips and tricks and workflow process etc that i and the other speakers use on a daily basis.  Basically attempting to improve everyone's productivity.

Hope this helps.

Hi psyman,

It is actually FREE on 1st come-1st served basic. Go...it is worth the time to see the Gurus showing their projects and also learn a few tricks and tipe.

In MALAYSIA, we are having ours on the 28th August 2007.

Autodesk called it Autodesk Design Conference.

I guess they talk about all their products.

If you are in MALAYSIA, drop in at:

SHERATON SUBANG HOTEL & TOWERS,

SELANGOR BALLROOM 1 & 2 & LOBBY LEVEL.

KUALA LUMPUR.

Hey the good thing about the conference in Malaysia.....lucky draws.

They are giving away I-phone, Iipod, camera and other goodies.

We are lucky as Autodesk has to "bride" us to go!

See you there.

I am speaking on ducmentation at the Auckland NZ  - RUGS conference in two weeks.

I have been working very hard to package a best practice "coal face" approach. I have to say it has been a challenge as all the speakers are giving their time free for this which causes a few dilemma's however all 5 speakers around Australia + me are collaborating to come up with the best comprensive presentation as possible. Answer is "YES" you should be their to support your area and network with other Revit users.

Am hoping to look at the pre-planning side of Revit documentaion with respect to proceedures/protocols and standards as I believe (know very well) these are not being thought about/implemented in most firms. Which leads to many stage exit left to Autocad for detailing instead of staying with Revit.
