So my problem is that I have a Central-Architectural File that keeps being updated by the Architect. My Central File is not on an FTP site, its on our server and I have been working from a local copy on the MEP. Is there a way to update the central with the new architectural model? So that I do not have to start over everytime I get an updated model. I would have linked the Architectural Model but it was more trouble than I bargined for.

The answer is to link the Architectural model - unless that is more trouble than starting over every time they make a change. What was the trouble of linking in the Architectural model?

Thanks for the response, thats what im finding out i have to do. However, this is kind of a stupid question i really need to be able to see the rooms, walls, ceilings, and floors. if i bind and ungroup the link. i get a warning from revit saying that the link will be deleted but the model will remain, which is ok untill i get another revision. my question is though, should i be using the copy/moniter option? due to the fact that this project is not nearly complete and i only assume the architect will bring me more revisions by the end of the day. Ok so ive also tried, ungrouping the initial model and then linking in a second revision. however, when i go to a rcp, all i see is an outline. the view range is good, and so are the visibility/graphics overrides. another quam i see is that i now have 10 levels when i started out with 5. is this because i ungrouped and have a linked model?

my suggestion is to not bind the linked file into your file at all, just link it in and let it remain as a link. As a link you can still see all the walls, etc. and when the architect does revisions all you have to do is reload the link to see the changes. You can use the Copy/Monitor tool to copy in levels, grid lines, & rooms from the linked file, but I wouldn't copy in anything else.
