In Revit 2008 is there a way to demolish a door and leave the opening? I need to demolish a door but still want the opening to remain but Revit automatically infills the opening when I demolish the door.

You need to insert an "opening".  They are under "components".

I have a similar issue, but with a window. I wish to demolish the window, retain the opening, and cut down the remaining wall below the existing window to create an new opening. I can create an opening in the wall as suiggested, but this cannot be assigned a phase, so doesn't seem an appropriate use. Should I create a separate wall up to the height of  the existing window lintel and demolish this?

I am not sure what the correct way to build one part height wall over another is.

-edit-I have ended up splitting the wall horizontally

Spacey, you could also try to insert a "window/door" wich only contains a void and cal this void opening.

Bump.

I used the Cut tool and cut the infill section of the wall by the rest of the wall. It goes away instantly. Best part about it is I can still select the "hidden" infill section to uncut if I want to.
