trying to insert a plywood detail component, but the pattern remains horizontal. any ideas about making the fill pattern orient with the detail component, horizontal, vertical, or otherwise?

ps if this has been discussed before i apologize. i searched through the past threads but could not find an answer.

Click on settings>fill patterns>find the pattern you are using, click edit, you will see a pulldown set that to align with element.

i tried that and the plywood pattern still was verticle.....

still not having any luck...anyone know what i seem to be doing wrong? here is a screen shot of what i am talking about. the plywood patterns are filled regions

Are you not using the plywood detail component?  If you are just drawing filled regions I don't think those know which way is up, you need to make a detail component(or use the plywood that comes with revit).

i imported the plywood detail component but the pattern won't orient properly when the plywood is vertical.

here is another sample of the problem that i am having. i want the plywood pattern to orient correctly. but am having no luck. anyone have some idea about what to do?

I should add that the plywood pattern is part of a detail component that was found in the Revit library

Have you solved this problem yet? I have exact the same problem. I changed the orientation for the fill pattern but the pattern still has the same orientation on paper.

If you have the solution please tell me.

Try to use a model fill region instead of a drafting fill region.
