We are currently using revit 9 and I have some questions about topo surfaces. I am currently trying to break up a large campus topo into smaller more manageable pieces to link buildings into. The original plan was to divide the campus by streets and make topos by the city blocks. The problem I am having is with the blocks that are not square. revit is connecting the outside edges of the topo, and 'not cutting' along the defined lines. For example one of the blocks is an L shape. When the topo surface is created, it turns out looking like a triangle instead of the L. Do you have any suggestions? The only thing I can think of is to create a new division system, such as a large grid with numbers and letters along the top and sides, and creating a coordinate matrix for the topo.

Sometimes this happens because Revit will interpolate between topo points to create the shortest possible path. You may need to add additional points along the edges to make it square up.
