Total noob here, doing my first project which is a renovation.

I imported a DWG floorplan of an existing building and have been building my model on top of it. I would like to be able to mask off portions of the old floorplan so that they do not appear below newly renovated areas.  I figured the floor of the model would "mask" portions of the imported DWG for me, but the floor always seems to be transparent.  Is there any way to make the floor opaque?   Is there a better way to do this?  TIA.

All revit geometry will hide the dwg if the dwg is linked in and on the level. if its above the level you won't see it. If you imported it current view only, then it has draw order and you can click on the dwg and in the options bar chose background.

if you're just wanting to view it as solid while you're working, click on the icon at the bottom of the screen called "model graphics view: wireframe" and change it to "hidden line". or under view > hidden line. other than that, it might be that the material for the floor is set to transparent. check the view's properties > visibilities and graphic overrides and check out all of the settings for foors.

Got it.  I had loaded my DWG the wrong way.  Reloaded it and everything was fine.  Thanks for the help!
