I don't find any options on the line type that are transparent when viewed in the drawing. The visibility graphics doesn't seem to have the option to change the outline either. I am sure there is a simple explanation but, so far, I haven't stumbled into it. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

A line around filled regions works great most of the time. I can't think of anytime that it would be desirable having a line around the edges of an area that you want to "mask off" in order to put more detailed info into that area. Even if you need a line at the edge of the masked off area, putting in a detail line is no big deal. When you draw the area to be masked you have dozens of options on what kind of line to use to define the masked area. I tried, I think, all of them and none became transparent after the "sketching" was over. Any suggestions?

Try this. Pick your Masked Region, and select Edit. Pick all of the lines that make up your region, and change them to Invisable Lines. Click Finished, and your done. I agree. I like the new Masked Region, but I can't think of a good reason to have the Lines to show up around your mask.

Apparently, I missed <invisible lines> when I was trying all of the options. By the way, what is the significance of the "<***>" surrounding the line name. I probably slept through that explanation but I don't understand whay some line names have <'s aound them and others don't.

Attached are two images of a masked area with <invisible lines> selected for its outline. For some reason, some edges still have lines and other edges don't. Does anyone know why the insulation side of the area has a line still while the other sides don't?

That looks like the line below showing through. It might be of a heavier lineweight than the Invisible Line. Try moving your Masking Region's Invisible Line just a hair to the Left, and see if that doesn't cover it up.

TheĀ indicator '<>' as in <line name> means that the line style is a 'system' line style that cannot be deleted.

Elsewhere on the forum, I had fits with a Revit Furnished mechanical louver that I inserted in an exterior wall well above the ceiling, yet it showed up in every plan I had. We finally determined that it had been made with "system lines" which are immune from any adjustment of their "visibility." That was a huge pain until wiser heads on the board guessed what the problem might have been. What is the benefit of "system lines" being the way they are visibility-wise?
