Revit 2008:

 The attached louver is located in the outside walls at about 11' above the floor level.  I have modified, I think, the visibility settings on it to not show up in plan and even unchecked the coarse and medium boxes on visibility.  The attached .jpg shows the view properties settings and if you look at the wall to the right, you will see a row of louvers that are well above the cut line.

Any suggestions?

Just a guess, but it sound like your louver family might have some sybolic lines in it.  Open the Louver Family and look at the plan view.  Select any lines that you see there and check to see if they are indeed symbolic.  Symbolic lines are used to make a 2D block to represent your 3D family.  Sometimes the 3D model is to muddy for a plan view, and that is when you would use the symbolic lines to draw something simple for the plan view.  If you get lucky and it is the symbolic lines that are showing up, just erase them.
