I'm fairly new to Revit, and have found that working alone on a project is much faster (to an extent) than most cad programs I've come across, there is however a specific set of issues that I can't quite grasp when it comes to the concept of "worksets" and "central files", "Local Files" and other such things. can anyone point me in the right direction for a tutorial on these issues. also, if anyone has found the feature countrproductive, would you mind sharing what problems have arisen from using worksets?

I have found worksets invaluable when working in a team but they do take a lot to get used to and a bit of planning helps as well. You basicaly need to save a 'Central File' that everyone references and keeps up to date (a bit like a central xref), then you work from 'Local Files' saved on your local drive. Whenever you save your local files you can also save to the central file, others can then update their files with changes you have made. Try the 'Sharing Projects' tutorial in the Revit help.

Worksets are very temperimental and it is critical they are completely understood before use. It helps to sit down and work out exactly how you want to break up the building, shell, core, fitout, unit walls etc. etc. There are some good threads on the augi forums about best practices using worksets... Check them out. HTH.
