I am using REVIT Architecture (200 and I have created a new drawing template for our office. I have everything working well except for the views. When I drag them and place them on the sheet, the "Section1" option shows in the type selector and I have to drop down the list and choose "Viewport1". I have 2 options in the type selector, "Section1" and "Viewprot1". I want the "Viewport1" to be the default and can not find where to set that. It always defaults to the "Section1". Please help.

I am having exactly the same problem. Did you ever figured out how to set the default?

It has been this way for years. It seems to default to the last type placed or created in your template. Revit does this for many objects so in the template I always make sure the last one I use of any object is the default I want to present to the user. For instance if I want the first room to be 100 then I place a room set to 99 and remove the room completely from the project (via a schedule). Then the first room the user places into the project will be 100. Do this for view types, dimensions, text, grids, levels, rooms, areas, wall, doors, windows etc. etc.
