Is there a way to make the furniture and furnishing look a little softer and more lifelike.
I have a great need for families of furniture with this characterisitc.

It all comes down to the way its modelled... There is no manual rendering method of doing this other than modifying the lights to give a softer feel in corel or photoshop...
Best bet is to browse the various family databases and see what's most suitable. If you don't find what you need you''ll most likely have to resort to building it yourself.
It may also be an idea to edit existing families and maybe take the sharpness out of corners, etc using sweeped voids...
