I'm trying to create a stair that is more realistic to our local conditions. Here we only have riser material and a stair nosing at the floor level. Revit will not allow me to do the stairs this way. It forces me to have an entire tread at the floor level which is ok except linework doesn't clean this up in the way I need it to. See enclosed picture. Is there a way to end the stringer at my detail line and cut the tread length to only that distance as well or am I out of luck? Any help is much appreciated.

Like in the attached image?  Try selecting "End with Riser" in the stair type properties (be sure you make a cuplicate of the type so you don't mess up any of the other stairs you already have made of that type) then just make your landing material come out to the stair.HTH

Need help? I'm probably in my chat room!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Thank you for your help. That works partially - now my stringers end prior to the landing. I guess I need to play with it as this seems to be the correct path.

Thanks again!
