I have searched previous threads but find no answer to this one. I am drawing plans for a remodel and dormer addition. One roof plane will be cut into and two dormers added. The problem is that the opening in the existing roof can only be phased "existing", which means that all my existing drawings show a gaping hole and walls unattached.I tried copying the roof in place and making one roof existing/demolished, and the second new construction. The problem here is that my demo plans show the entire existing roof dashed for demolition, instead of just the roof opening. Any solutions out there? Thanks.

That is how i do roofs for renovations. In the demolition plan use the Linework tool to change the roof outline.
