Can someone help me on a roof joist issue. I have the joist set where I want it, but the end keeps extending over the beam it sits on. I need to bring the joist end to align with the edge of the beam so the bearing plate sits on the beam correctly. I keep trying to drag it with the blue dot, but it always jumps back to its original position.

Using 9.1

Thanks

Long shot, but have you tried placing a referenc eplane wher eyou want the end of the joist to be to see if you can get a snp point there?  Also, try right clicking the blue dot and see if there is a "Disallow Join" option, if so, click it and try again.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

I have similar problem with adjusting the custom 2.5K oist I created out of (4) 1 1/4 X 1 1/4 X 1/8 angles it only inserts into my projects at 10' which is the length I made it when I created it as a family with ref points. If you figured it out please let me know so I can make my 2.5K joist adjustable between 2' and 10' for different spans, thanks!
