I realize that this should most likely be posted under the REVIT Systems forum since I am using MEP2008, but there is not much activity over there. I am trying to make a "smart" diffuser family and I have been sucessful in makeing a 3D model of the diffuser that will change in size when I change a "length" and "width" dimension. The problem I am having is that when I try to apply symbolic lines to the diffuser (Basically an X over a rectangle) I can't get the symbolic lines to change in size proportional to the "length" and "width" dimensions. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You have to align then lock the ends of the symbolic lines to the width ref & then the length ref. draw them to the intersection then align them by tabbing through to pick the line end. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response, I got it to work. I think my issue was I was not using reference lines to constrain my parametric variables to.
