Has anyone come up with the best way to organize all the components or families in their computer. Now that Revit has moved the "folder" where they are stored, and some are not there from previous versions, and there are so many downloads... whats the best way to organize them all? Organize by 16 divisions, or similar to the family explorer on this site, or put the new stuff in the "modern media library"? Eventually, we will hire people that will use this program at work. It would make sense to establisha well organized office protocol, that others endorse as well. Similar to the AIA layer guidelines.

we've run into this problem as well in the organization of the revitcity family components. Any suggestions would be appreciated as we are trying to figure out ourselves how to best organize them all.

I would suggest that people organize their 3D families using the Uniformat Classification System and then use the Masterformat System to organize their 2D Detail Components.

Uniformat Classifies Assemblies

Masterformat Classifies the Parts within the Assembly.
