Hi all,

I have been experimenting with revit for some time now, however, this is the first time i attempted to make my own steel frame family modules, and import them into a project. I built a tube steel frame with floor and ceiling joists that flexes. I brought the family into my project, then attempted to place a floor above it. I cannot see the floor and i have tried editing the view range. This seems like a very simple issue, but i just can't seem to find the solution. Please help! i've attached a simplified format of the file...

Thanks,

 r.

The reason for this is because you made both floor support systems as one family.  So when cuttin through the family you are viewing the top one.  There is nothing you can do about this with visibility graphics or veiw range.  What you need to do is just make the two floor systems no in the same family.  And from the looks of them, they are the same, so there is no reason to have 2 in the family.  Just have 1 in the family and copy it up in the project.

Grant-

After a lot of messing around, thats what i figured also. I split them up already and it's working just fine. Do all family templates have a single Reference Level? Thank you for the help!

No.  Column families have two reference levels.
