I am using Revit Architecture 2008 and I am having trouble getting a walkthrough to export. I can set the walkthrough up and edit it just fine, but when I want to export it to an .avi, nothing happens. I know a save as dialog is supposed to appear when I go to File>Export>Walkthrough, but when I click the menu the screen just flashes and nothing appears. Is there a setting I need to worry about here or what? I even called a support line that was setup by the place I got the software from and they were no help. Any input is much appreciated!

Be sure the walkthrough view is open and active when you do the export. Otherwise it will just stare back at you like "what?" Also, you need to be sure you have a codec that can encode into AVI (DIVX, Cinepack, etc) in order to save to an AVI file.

rkitect, all of the things that you mentioned I have done. I can create a walkthrough in any other project I have done so far, but not this one for some reason. I have a presentation on Friday that needs to include a rendered walkthrough of this building and nothing seems to be helping. I even got in contact with Autodesk and their suggestions aren't working yet. If anyone has experience with this problem, please give any input you can. thanks

In that project if you create another quick walkthrough, when trying to export will that new view bring up the window? It may in fact be that particular walkthrough that is corrupt and it may be quicker to regenerate it. There is no point in trying to duplicate it as they will most likely bring the corruption with it. Let me know if this helps or not. I haven't experienced that issue before.

I figured it out at the end of the day yesterday. Apparently I wasn't opening the walkthrough properly by showing the camera first and then opening and exporting. Thanks everyone for your help!

I'm having that exact problem and I'm not sure how to fix it - I've even downloaded divx and still no change. shkuv: How did you figure it out exacly? Thanks.

I am getting that same problem!! The "Save As" dialog never pops up. Can anyone help me?!
