I have tried importing IFC file by File>Import/Link>IFC in Revit 2008. I am not sure what’s wrong but the file does not import in to project. Please share your thoughts. Thanks

I have tried both ifc 2x and ifc2x3, but failed to import any file.

Got an error message for both the format: "The following problems were encountered in the IFC file: Error    20056: Error opening  the temporary swapfile!"

can anyone please help me to get out of this.

Hello saif33943, I got the same message when importing IFC files: "The following problems were encountered in the IFC file: Error    20056: Error opening  the temporary swapfile!"

Did you resolve this issue? If so, please provide some advice. Thanks.

I had the same error 20056, aperrantly it meens that your swapFile is not big enough. I fallowed instructions on this  link and increased size of a swapFile to recomended, after thet had no error message again, and no problems with importing IFC .
