I'm working on creating a family of rooftop Air Handling Units.  I've placed a duct connector (supply) on the bottom face.  I can change the dimensions of the connector, but cannot move it around on the face.  This has created a problem because I need to place a return duct connector on the same face, and now they are on top of each other.  How do I move a duct connector?

I know you asked a year ago, but I just saw your question. I hope you have resolved it by now, but for anyone who might be looking in the future.....  what I always do in this case is create a solid extruded element in the size and location of the duct connector.  I set the thickness to like 1/8" so it is very thin. Then I stick the duct connector to this thin extrusion and set the parameters of the duct connector to match the parameters of the solid. This way when I resize the connector to make custom family types the connector and extrusion keep the same size.  Hope this helps.

I believe I can be of some insight with regards to the duct connector direction problem. Yes, the duct connectors should have the arrows pointing towards the duct, not into the family.

If you use the "Face" method, you can simply click the swap duct connector direction icon near the direction indication arrow.

If you use the "Work Plane" method, however, this button does not work. Frustratingly the interface doesn't give you any indication why it doesnt work. However, the reason is simple: Work Planes (esp. reference planes) have an inherent direction. This is not displayed anywhere in the interface.

To fix a connector which is oriented incorrectly, you need to "flip" the reference plane around. First, delete the connector. Enter the "Ref. Level" view and find the dashed line indicating your reference plane. When you select the line with the modify tool, its name should appear under the properties manager under "Identity Data". On either end of the line, there is a circle. swap the positions of the circles. This will change the orientation of the reference plane. Create the connector using the same method you did previously. This time, the direction of the connector will be flipped.
