I'm trying to change a model line in a family to a center linestyle.  In projects you can just create new line styles but it doesn't seem to be the case in families.  And on top of that, I can't just copy/paste the line from the project to the family (it says you can't copy from project to family).  Any work arounds?

Other info: the family visibility is set so that only this model line shows up in coarse view.  Its for a structural framing plan.

You can go to Settings--> Object Styles and create a new object style, and change the linestyle in there.

In a profile family, it is not possible to add/modify subcategory.

How did you resolve this issue?

Jhui - Do you mean a new Line Pattern? If so go to Settings-->Line Patterns and create your new pattern.

mebowles55 - You will not be able to apply the line pattern until you get the profile applied to a sweep in a project. For example you can create a Cornice Profile and in your project you can add a subcategory to walls and apply the Sweep to that category. I am not sure if this works for sweeps integrated into the wall type but I know it works for Hosted Sweeps.
