On my current project the footings that are covered by a slab on grade are do not show. How do I get them to show as hidden lines?

Set the visibility level to Coarse. This will make the line show up. To get the footing to look like a hidden line. go into your visibility graphoics scroll down to the Structural Foundations book and in the box next to them name select it and override the line style. You can pick nay line style that you want.
