OK DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW IF I CAN GET RID OF THE ELEVATION INSTANCE PARAMETER OF A WALL CABINET FAMILY? IS THIS A SYSTEM THING THAT CANNOT GO AWAY? BASICALLY I WANT MY TOP OF CABINET PARAMETER TO DETERMINE THE TOP OF WALL CABINETS SO WHEN I CHANGE BETWEEN DIFFERENT HEIGHTS OF THE SAME KIND OF FAMILY IT GROWS/SHRINKS FROM THE BOTTOM AND NOT THE TOP. I AM INCLUDING ONE OF THE WALL CABINET FAMILIES WE BORROWED FORM THE WOODSMITHS INSTITUE WEBSITE THAT WE TWEAKED TO BE OUR OFFICES STANDARD. FEEL FREE TO THROW IT INTO A GENERIC PROJECT AND SEE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. THANKS IN ADVANCE

The 'Elevation' parameter is added to your casework family when the family is loaded into the project.  You could try starting your casework families as a 'generic model' then switching them to be in a casework category as I recall theis removes that elevation parameter problem.

Negative, I tried this and the elevation parameter was still present.  Could this be a bug?  I tried making a family independent of his and it was behaving the same way.  I've never had this problem before!

Need help? I'm probably in my chat room!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
