hi all

i was wondering if there is a way to add any parameters into wall families like in other families created in Family Editor?

Im not quite sure of what you mean...could you reiterate?  What are you looking to do with the walls?  From what Im used to walls dont really have a family editor, but you can do alot with them still inside of the project, so what are you looking at chaning about a wall?

Walls are system family therefore you can't edit its parameter in the family editor however you can make a new type out of it. If you are looking to put a cost parameter then you can do that in the schedule.

hello, thanks for your reply Smile

i was just hoping that i'm wrong Puh cause its weard a little bit for me that i can't put cost parameters into a wall family.....

with schedules, there is a little problem, see PIC1.

its a schedule with costs included, it looks ok, but when I change one of the wall types, costs stay the same...... Puh see PIC2

now see PIC3. you can see that all my cost parameters that i put in the schedule are now in my wall familly, i hoped that

when i put the costs in here thay will show in all walls of this type.....i was wrong Puh when you type them here they will only

show in that one element.

maybe someone knows if Autodesk will make it possible to put parameters directlly to a system family? :D

In your schedule I don't know which one is the cost? The cost  should be a calculated value parameter and it's a function of your wall area or volume to be able to get different amount for each wall instance.

Hope this helps

cost is the last column is the sumary cost of all included costs. it is calculated automaitcally. but this is not the problem. see the diffrence between PIC1 and PIC2. I changed one of the wall types but the summary cost is still the same.
