I have created my 3D house model and have plotted a 3D site successfully, however the aim of this excercise was to add restriction lines (daylighting requirements, height restrictions etc.) on the 3D model so I can see what I have to work with and if I try to add lines on the 3D model they go off on strange dimensions and angles and I can't seem to draw lines on the elevations at all as the programme wants to go back to a floor plan... can anyone identify a tool I need to use or a setting I need to amend? Any help would be really appreciated!!

If you want your lines to show in 3d then yes you have to use model lines. Model lines require a workplane. This can be a reference plane, a level or a face of another element. Simply set the work plane first then draw you line. HTH.
