Just try out Revit 7.0 and I found that when I am zooming (either in, out, full) with the Shadow on, seems like my notebook has to take a while (a few seconds) to regenerate. Is that normal or just the specification of the notebook being too low?
Currently run on NEC Versa M400 notebook with Pentium IV 2.8GHz, 512MB Ram with 64MB Video Memory.
In this case, again, I suspect the Video Memory of being too low.
Any problems on other PC or Notebook?

With shadows switched on for shading, it slows Revit down alot. If you need to view shadows, turn them off again before any scrolling/zooming etc. We have found this even on fast pc's
