Hi,

After a long break from revit I am trying to learn it again and in my simple project so far things were going well until I stumbled across an odd wall cleanup/join problem I cant solve.

When the walls finish together they seem to clean up properly but if the wall continues through they just seem to lap over one another (as shown in the pictures).

How do I go about a proper intersection of the walls?

Thanks in advance.

Rudyard,

The image attached for reference is too small to understand the problems you are undergoing. Can you attach a bigger/clearer image?

I hope you must be aware of a function called 'edit wall join' if you want to present the join properly.

If it is the overlap that troubles you, then please be sure that the centerlines of both the walls are aligned, both the walls are of the same type(Generic) & thickness.

Thats all I can suggest at this stage till you send me a clear view depicting your problem.

Regards,

Pragati

Version of Revit prior to 9.0 [maybe 8.1] had this behavior when walls crossed.  If you are using one of the earlier versions you have to place each crossing wall segment individually, or use the split tool at each intersection and trim the walls together.
One forgets sometimes the improvements made along the way to Revit, and this was a big one that happened.

Pragati,

If you click on the image it will open a very large version of it which will explain the problem.

Tom Dorner,

Yes the version is 8.1, if its the problem you say it sounds like a little quirk that I will have to put up with.
