CANT CHANGE MY BALUSTERS TO A SPACIFIC MATERIAL. NO PROB. FOR RAILING BUT NOT!! BALUSTERS. I HAVE DONE THIS ONE BEFOR, BUT CANT DO IT AGAIN. CANT EVEN FIND WHERE TO CHANGE FROM DEFAULT. HELP THANKS ROBERT...

Edit the balluster family and change the material under type.

That's way too hard to find. I'm glad I found this post...I never would have found that one....put that on the wishlist for next release...make it just as accessible as the railing material. k

wow thank you. i was going crazy trying to change the color of the railing I clicked on 'Edit' with railing selected... and couldn’t do it. you have to go through the Project Browser... go to 'Families' ... Then go to 'Railings' Right click on the size baluster you want to change material and BAM! Thanks again!

SORRY I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
I WANT TO CHANGE THE REVIT RAILING FAMILY FROM DEAFULT TO GOLD MATERIAL.
COULDNT FIND MATERIAL OPTION WHEN I RIGHT CLICKED ON THE BALUSTER TYPE IN PROJECT BROWSER RAILING FAMILY
CAN YOU EXPLAIN?

Right click (or dbl click) on the family->type properties->material

THANK YOU
I WAS TRYING TO CHANGE THE RAILING MATERIAL (900MM RAILING) BUT YOU CAN ONLY CHANGE THE MATERIAL OF THE BALUSTER AND HANDRAIL INDIVIDUALLY
