I have created a door family with a door panel family nested into it.  I've flexed it, and it works.  I have a parameter for an adjustable door swing in 2D using symbolic lines.  I'm having trouble, however, creating a 3D swing parameter - when I try and constrain the panel family to the reference line and create the parameter, the constraints are not satisfied.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!T.

Could you link in the family?  I think I know what the issue is and it has to do with the angle 0 and when it overlaps a reference plane, I had similar problems with some window shudders.  If you can I can take a look at the family and see what I can figure out.Grant Doherty

Here's the file - if you could let me know what the problem is I'd really appreciate it.

we have had a similar problem here. when you bring in your nested family use the align tool to place it to the reference line then lock it to the reference line. this seemed to solve our problem in a similar situation.

Two months later and I finaly get it.  Look at this site from Mr. Spot and go to Step #8.  It explaines how to do a paramectric 3D Angle.  http://revitcity.com/tutorials/arrays_and_nested/   Sorry it took FOREVER to get back to you on this.  Let me know if you have any more questions on this, I finally got it figured out.
