Our firm maintains several prototypes for different companies.  I am curious to know how much success other companies are experiencing using Revit to create prototypes.  Also, I would like to know how well Revit has worked when coordinating with other companies who use the prototype.

We have been working on a prototype for a couple of weeks now so I too am interested in this.  At this time, we will probably only share AutoCAD exports of the file as well as 2d/3d dwf's.

We too are taking the DWG/DWF approach to begin with, because many of the other companies do not us Revit at this time.  However, we hope to encourage the other subs to consider using the native Revit files.

We have previously created a prototype/standard build for a client of ours.  They purchased the revit model from us.  The way they plan on sharing the model with other designers/consultants is to issue the revit model either for linking purposes or for editing and amending the model directly...

In this case only one designer works on the model at a time.  Providing they know what their doing it should all be fine.  I'd had to see it come back to us in shambles.
