I am trying to rescale my drawing to a smaller scale, but all the door tags, room tags, grids and fill patterns/hatches stay at the same size. I thought these would resize automatically when changing the view scale. How do i fix this? I am using Revit Architecture 2008 Student version.

This is exactly how revit is supposed to be, your text is sized to be a printed size, ie 1/8" high. No matter what scale you set your view to the text will be 1/8" when printed.

Your issue seems to be that Revit IS automatically resizing hatches and annotation. For instance, when you change your view scale from 1/2" to 1/4" the hatches and annotation will APPEAR twice as big because the model in the view will be half the size. Not having to coordinate text size, dimension scales, hatch scales, etc. is one of the great things about Revit. If these are PRINTING too big for your taste, you can edit the tags to have a smaller text size, etc. Sometimes, in our office I want to print an 11x17 for sketching on or asking a principal about, but changing the view scale down to the paper size results in the tags filling the room, dimensions overlapping, etc.. If it is something temporary like that, simply change the zoom setting in the print dialog. Be careful that you are using a zoom factor that results in the drawing being to a real scale if you need the print to be to a standard scale.

For printing at a reduced paper size you have a couple of options: 1. Make smaller scale views with reduced text, dim and tag sizes. (generally too much work for my tastes) 2. Print your full size sheets at a reduced scale by reducing the Zoom scale in the print setup dialog in Revit. [tip: I have a 22"x34" titleblock setup that is meant to print at half size to 11"x17"] 3. Print full size and then with a 3rd party print submission tool reduce the print size.
