I am trying to make a 8' x 16' arch top window to insert in my project. I have existing arch top windows that I can modify, but (and please forgive me if this is obvious and I have overlooked it) I cannot figure out how to change the "cut out" in the wall to fit my new window size. If the technique is in the tutorials or help menu, I have just missed it.

typically, families that have openings are based on (constrained to) those openings. for example, in a door family, the dimensions to the height usually do not refer to the geometry of the casing ect. but refers to the opening itself and all the other geometry is constrained to the opening. with that said.... make sure that your parametric lables(dimensions) refer to the opening and that the rest of the geometry follows suit. hope this helps.

that is one way, but i've found another way where the opening in the wall is not constrained and can be deleted you just have to use generic models and change how everything looks. I've made one window and this is how i did it if i can help any other way just let me know if this is not explained enough

Okay you've probably already worked it out by now by just to clarify. You can select and edit the opening to the require shape by tab selecting the opening cut... (i find this easiest in 3d by hovering over the edge of the opening). An opening cut and a void cannot both cut the wall geometry in a family at the same time. If you delete the opening cut, you can then use voids to create the opening in the wall by using the cut geometry tool. Sorry if i'm being a parrot.
