Hi,
What I can think of is by editing structure of the roof, not too sure it is the best way or not.
Simply duplicate a default roof from it's property dialogue box, go into edit structure, add the required layer of materials (and specify thickness for them) on the roof e.g. waterproofing membrane, sub-soil drainage, soil and the sod, change the materials by selecting the most appropriate materials in the library (in this case, the most important is the sod). Once rendered, you should get your green roof model.
Hope this help!
