In any view, pick the item you want to "lock" and stick a push pin in it.  Same for your section cut lines.

awesome, thnx;

here’s more basic questions:… anyone?

-         if I need to turn off first & basement walls in second FL plan where do I go to do that…?

-         How do I draw lines in particular subcategory…?

-         ADT has ability to print (same scale) by making window and fitting it on to a page… can Revit do the same or do I need to set separate page…? (plotting in half scale??

lucas:

for your first question set the view range (under view/view properties)for each level as needed so that you only see the level you want.

second question, you can create subcategories for components while you are editing or creating them. just go to the visibility graphics/object styles/modify subcategories/new. use this with caution until you are more familiar with how components work!

you can print a view directly but remember that you have to check the scale in the lower left hand corner because that is how the view would print. i would suggest creating a half scale sheet and half scale views

fyi: i would suggest searching through the threads in revitcity before posting because there is a good chance you will be able to find the answer to your question  without having to wait for a response

i already made few subcategories that i will use... for example if i pick lines option; draw an edge of a site...how do i meke that line jump to "sitelines" subcategory? (is it as simple as putting something on a different layer in CAD or do i need to call NASASmile
