Hi

I've imposted a DWG template of my linestyles 

1. Is there an easy way to remove IMPORTED from the names in one go?

2. In a similar vein, is there an easy way to to delete unwanted patterns? Doing it one at a time seems laborious.

3. Is there any significance in the <> that encase some linestyles?

4. again, in a similar vein, is the any importance in the fact some line styles are given a colour OOTB?

Oh dear, I really should check before posting.

it seems the just the name gets imported & none of the actual definition. Is this correct?

If so, scrub Q. 1.

If you go to the Settings drop-down and half way down to Line Styles... you can edit all of the lines here.  ie: change names, change colors.  The <lines> are just Revit stock lines, as far as I know.  The green line called Line is for construction line purposes.  I even made an orange Construction Line to use for other reasons.  

Also check out the Line Patterns... tab under Settings.  Here you can modify the line types the you have imported, or create new patterns.
