Just wondering but whenever I download a family from Revitcity I notice its almost always a generic model family. Is there a reason why people don't specify a roof drain as a mechanical or plumbing object with a roof drain sub-catagory?

Because the Generic Model category is the most abused category and since most people don't understand the benefits of having the model done in a specific category, they just put it under Generic Model.  This is why I dread downloading families and usually end up heavily editing most of the ones I do.

Don't get me wrong, there are some really good ones out there Smile

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
