When you import details (ie. a window head detail from a manufacturers site) (dwg files) the lines come in as model lines. If I wanted to add the drafted detailing to a wall section, for example, is it possible to convert the lines to detail lines to do so. Model lines are not compactible with views such as sections. It seems absurd to have to trace over model lines with detail lines when everything is already drawn for me. Can anyone help? Post edited on 2004-12-22 16:13:45

Make sure current view only is ticked when importing the dwg. This will effectively make them detail lines when the dwg is exploded.

Excellent Mr. Spot! But, Is there a tip to import the dwg as symbolic lines? I mean, I have the same problem as smh, but I need the drawing in symbolic lines... Maybe a tip to convert them? whatever!!! That will be very usefull to recycle the old CAD library with tree blocks and vehicles.

Revit 2010 subscription advantage pack has the ability to convert lines from model to detail (or symbolic). Revit 2011 will have this feature upon release.

Although, I should not, it is slow as heck!
