I use .dwg as a base to draw on top of. I have recently been linking instead of importing. But today my drawing is really dragging bad. After some investigating I beleive I have decided that my import was an ADT drawing, because walls etc had different starting and ending z points. The auocad I use shows deffinate heights to walls and door blocks but nothing looks right. All I care about is making my Revit drawing work right, I am half a day into a drawing I would have liked to finish in less than 4 hours and have 30 to go at this pace. I tried flatshot. I tried exploding. I haven't yet tried unlinking, but thats probly next.

did you want to be sure that relinking the dwg was the best course? we used the same method for creating our model and for the most art, it has worked out well. you can use the manage links command to reload the acad dwg.
