I've posted this topic before but wanted to get more feedback. Just curious about what people think or if anyone is having similar issues. As an autocad user, I am all about putting the notes in the view but with revit, detail lines will not go outside of the scope boxes.... leaders will, which is great, but if I want to draw box around the text for typical wall assembly the box has to be within the scope box. This is annoying because I don't want to widen the scope box because other elements then get in the view.

I've used the same work around that you have .... that is putting the lines around the text on the sheet rather than in the view. I don't think that's much of a problem since I compose a lot of my noting while working on the sheet. I have a bigger problem with notes (or dimensions) that are placed in never/never land ... within the "break" area of a section. It's sometimes hard to move these without re-joining the section and that leads to other problems.
