revit building 8 issues

1. Door Window Schedule Table doesnot have any field that shows elevation of the door or window as well as the plan.

I tried Legend with combination of sheets but does not give me the desired result.(I would need to make all the doors and windows as separate legengs to insert in the window schedule sheet)  I tried using the phasing method.. but really can't find way to show the elevations of the relevant doors and windows for each type in the schedule.  Need help with this. (Archicad easily does this... but i need a solution in REVIT Building 9.

2.  How can I make a curved wall of 8000mm radius with a large arched opening of 4000mm radius (like an entry arc)? The wall height increases from 3000 mm on one side  to 8000mm on the other side.  I tried massing.. but could not get the wall right . help me with this too

3.  While importing ACIS solids from 3DsMax or AutoCAD to the massing section, I could not place walls or roof over that object..

1. you have create a mass and then import your solids into that mass.

2. then finish the mass

now you should be able to use the "by face" tools place wall and roofs on the mass

1.  Can you show a screenshot of what you're after?  The legend components should be able to show the elevations that you need.  You are limited a bit in the schedule however.  The schedules in revit don't give you many formatting controls that you may like.

2.  I'd just draw the wall normally in plan as an arc and then create an in-place wall family blended void to cut the top to the appropriate shape.  If you refer to my attaching walls to underside of stairs tutorial it shows how to do this.  Then for the arch, it will just be a arched door family opening that you can easily place in the wall like any other door.

HTH.

Hi Chris, (MR. Spot)

Thanks for the prompt response to my queries.  I shall check the underside of the staircase like you told me to.  Meanwhile I have attached the jpg screenshot of what my schedule in autocad looks like.

Thanks again.

Dear Coreed,

Thanks for the method . It worked.  The only issue with this is the curved part cannot be made as a wall, it has to be a curtain wall system. Hence if there is a way to convert that particular curved mass into cuved wall (masonary wall - non load bearing) You can see the attached jpg for what was allowable when I made the mass.

Thanks again..I appreciate it. awaiting your suggestions for the mass.

it shouldn't matter if the mass face is straight or cureved, you should be able to apply a "wall by face"

This took all of about 5 minutes to create using the steps our outlined above (in the tutorial).

Regarding the Schedule i can't see any reason why you couldn't have your schedule display that way in revit.  The check marks you have for materials would mean you'd end up with a lot of parameters in your door families...  It would be a lot easier to simply report the revit material that you've used in your family.

To have it display the way you are after the example column will just be a blank column that leaves space for you to insert your legend components in.  Use the remarks column to make the example column big enough.  You won't be able to get the excess horizontal gridlines you have for each door type.  You can however group your headers like you have.
