Revit will always show all the triangulations of a imported 3D DWG file. To get around this its best to set the 3D geometry to not display in plan or section and then create masking regions (white filled regions pre 200 so as they conceal elements behind them and to represent the element in these views. HTH.

you can't create filled regions in a plumbing category, do you do it in the project?

"i figured that was what i had to do. there is no way to hide the triangulation lines in autocad?" here is your original file with a hidden triangulation version next to it done in Autocad. i don't distinguish between Autocad and Desktop and that sometimes creates problems. i should have said Desktop. sorry for the misunderstanding HTH
