I am stuck with makinga tiled wall. I tried using the Revit help, but revit won't actually do the things the help tells me to do. I need to know how to make a ten foot high wall that has tile going seven feet up it. And then I have to be able to add a pattern to the tile in the future. Can anyone help?

split face would be your easiest quickest way.

or you can make an in-place family of the tile thickness up to your desired height and give it a material and hatch pattern for display purposes.

You could also create a separate "wall" that has the core thickness of the tile and just place the "wall" at the desired location.

If you actually want to see the thickness of the tile in section then the best solution would be a stacked wall.

Create two basic wall types:

1.  will have your tile finish on it

2.  same wall without the tile finish

Now select a stacked wall and duplicate it to create a new type. Edit its structure to have Wall Type 1 up to 7 feet then wall type 2 stacked on top if it set to variable height.

Now just place this new stacked wall around your model at the appropriate 10 foot high.

But how do you add a pattern to the tile? Ex. Tiles of different color, white and gray to keep it simple.
