hello all i am trying to design a staircase in which the railing is situated outside the run,on a steel plate anchored to the concrete run (as in attached photo) can i do it in revit, and if so,how? thank you very much simon

You should be able to do this. Tog et your ballusters & rails to the side of the steps, use the offset setting as you set them up. By doing this, the location of the railing will remain within the host. You can also set the offset of the bottom of the balluster. If you want to model the connector to the side of the tread, look at what others have done with wall mounting brackets for handrails.
