How does one switch of surface patterns for column or structural columns, the surface patterns show up in 3d and I would like them not to show in 3d only??

Floors & Walls has visibility setting you just uncheck but column & structural column do not!

That would be your surface pattern.

Check your column in the family editor to see what the subcategory is. When you name your surface in the subcategory, this comes into your project and your project assigns a material and surface pattern according to your subcategory. This would help you to change this surface pattern for ALL of your future projects.

If it's something you want immediately and will fix later, just find out what the material is associated to the column and edit the surface pattern under "Settings>Materials" This would be your simplest, quickest fix to get rid of the pattern.

If you have a template, and your column is already loaded into your template, make sure you edit this so you don't have this problem every time you start a new project.

Thanks, I have already used those options. Was wondering if there wasn't another or easier way of doing it!

Floors and walls have visibilty graphic overrides which makes it so much easier to switch of their surface pattern!

I think they should incorporate it with the next version of REVIT
