Need help with an error message when trying to add a floor to a floor level view.  The message is "The work plane of this view cannot be used for this operations.  This operation should be performed in another view or the work plan of this view should be set to a Level (use Work Plane command in Tools menu)."

I cannot change the work plane to the floor level I am working in.  I have been able to copy and edit a previously created floor on this level and copy a floor from another level to this floor.  Revit thinks the work plane for this level is a wall.

I am a new user, any help is appreciated.

Someone in my office just got this same exact error while trying to create a Ceiling in a Ceiling Plan. She rebooted and it worked fine...which means that I didn't get the opportunity to see/fiddle with it and I couldn't replicate the error. To be honest, though, I didn't spend much time trying to replicate it...it's not THE most productive thing for me to be doing at this point.

Can you explain "why" you cant change the work plane to the Level that the View is based on?

Ran into this issue & found the answer on this thread:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/work-plane-error/td-p/2768592

Thought I'd post for future reference. Simple solution but does the fix.
